The Larian Studios Baldur's Gate 3 Deluxe Edition (PS5) is the better fit for story choices and co-op, while the Square Enix Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5) favors cinematic storytelling and party combat. Each offers a different kind of scale. Match the game to your preferred pace before adding it to your Black Friday shortlist.
Which AAA game is best for a story-focused PS5 player?
The Square Enix Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5) is the strongest story-first pick for players who want a large cast, a cinematic presentation and party-based action. The adventure balances character moments with exploration, so it works for players who want more than a sequence of battles.

What should you check before buying a PS5 game on Black Friday?
Check the exact edition, platform and player count before buying any Black Friday AAA game deal. A base game and an expanded edition are different products, and a season pass or expansion is only part of the package when the listing names it. Confirm whether the listing is a disc or digital copy too.
Next, compare the ESRB rating with the intended player and check storage requirements on the retailer or publisher listing. For a gift, confirm that the recipient owns a PS5 and prefers that genre. The Ubisoft Star Wars Outlaws Gold Edition (PS5), for example, suits a Star Wars fan, while the Bandai Namco Entertainment Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Edition (PS5) is better for a player who enjoys a challenge.
