Destiny 2: The Final Shape is the story expansion to target if Black Friday 2026 is your chance to jump into Destiny 2’s climactic campaign. The expansion adds a new campaign, destination, subclass abilities and endgame activities. What does Destiny 2: The Final Shape include?

Destiny 2: The Final Shape includes a campaign, a new destination, new subclass abilities and activities for players progressing beyond the story. The expansion continues the ongoing Destiny 2 narrative and is designed for players who want a substantial new chapter rather than a standalone game.

The edition you choose matters. A standard listing focuses on the expansion, while a bundle can package additional Destiny 2 content or extras. Read the included-content list carefully; similar product titles do not guarantee identical entitlements. The expansion also requires the Destiny 2 base game, so confirm the base game is accessible on the account you plan to use.

For Black Friday 2026, compare the exact edition name across retailers and platforms. Look for clear descriptions of campaign access and any added content. A bundle only makes sense when its extras fit your plans. Skip duplicate content you already own, and check whether a digital code is locked to a particular platform or region.

Which platforms support Destiny 2: The Final Shape?

Destiny 2: The Final Shape is available across 5 platform families: PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Store listings and product codes are platform-specific, so match the edition to the system and account where you play Destiny 2.

Check the product page for the exact console generation and storefront before buying. A listing for one platform is not automatically a code for another, even when both systems belong to the same console family. PC shoppers should confirm the supported store and account requirements in the listing details.

Cross-platform play can help friends play together across supported systems, but ownership and access rules still matter. Check the current platform information for account linking, expansion access and any restrictions that apply to your setup. A few minutes spent checking compatibility beats discovering after checkout that the code belongs to a different platform.

How long is the Destiny 2: The Final Shape campaign?

Destiny 2: The Final Shape offers 2 campaign difficulty options, Classic and Legendary, so players can choose a more accessible story run or a tougher challenge. Campaign length varies with difficulty, exploration, mission pace and how much time you spend experimenting with builds.

Players who focus on the story and move through missions at a steady pace have a different experience from players who explore every activity or repeat encounters with friends. Legendary difficulty is a more demanding route, so allow extra time if you are learning encounters or playing with a group.

The campaign is only one part of the expansion. The destination, subclass abilities and endgame activities add more reasons to keep playing after the story. If you mainly want a short, self-contained game, consider whether those ongoing activities appeal to you. Destiny 2: The Final Shape is best suited to players who enjoy both campaign progression and repeatable cooperative play.

Can you play Destiny 2: The Final Shape solo or with friends?

Destiny 2: The Final Shape supports solo campaign play and activities with fireteams of up to 6 players, depending on the activity. Solo players can follow the story at their own pace, while friends can team up for cooperative missions and endgame challenges.

Not every activity uses the same group size. Some content is designed for smaller teams, while raids and other endgame activities call for a larger coordinated group. Check each activity’s requirements before assembling a fireteam, especially if your group is new to Destiny 2.

For a smoother group experience, make sure everyone has the required expansion access and compatible accounts. Buying a bundle for one player does not automatically provide access for friends. Destiny 2: The Final Shape works best as a shared purchase when each player checks their own platform, edition and game access before setting a date to play.

What should you check in a Destiny 2: The Final Shape Black Friday deal?

A strong Destiny 2: The Final Shape Black Friday 2026 deal clearly identifies the platform, edition and included content. Compare the listing details first, then check whether it is a digital code or another format and whether the code has region or account restrictions.

Look for bundle names that spell out what is included. An edition with extra content can offer more value for a new player, while an existing player can already own some of the additions. Check stock and delivery details too, particularly when a retailer lists separate console and PC versions.

Before checkout, review the seller, return policy and redemption instructions. Confirm that the product name matches Destiny 2: The Final Shape and that the listing does not refer to a different expansion or account service. Comparing like-for-like editions makes it easier to spot a useful offer without being distracted by a vague bundle title.

Who should buy Destiny 2: The Final Shape?

Destiny 2: The Final Shape is for players who want a story campaign, new combat abilities and cooperative activities within the Destiny 2 universe. Existing players get the clearest fit because the expansion continues a story and progression system they already know.

Newcomers should first check the base-game requirement and understand that Destiny 2 is an evolving online game. The expansion’s campaign can be approached solo, but group activities and ongoing progression are part of the wider experience. A friend group already playing Destiny 2 makes the expansion easier to recommend.

Skip the purchase if you want a completely standalone game, do not want an online experience or have no interest in the included activities after the campaign. For Black Friday 2026, the best choice is the edition with the right platform and useful content—not simply the listing with the longest bundle description. Worth it for most players who are already invested in Destiny 2.

Buying Guide

Match the edition to your platform

Destiny 2: The Final Shape has 5 platform families to check: PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Verify the storefront, console generation and account before you buy. A code for one platform does not automatically transfer to another.

Compare bundle contents

Alternatives to Consider

• Warframe: Pick Warframe instead if you want a free-to-play, co-op action game built around frequent missions and character customization, rather than Destiny 2: The Final Shape’s paid campaign expansion.
• The First Descendant: Pick The First Descendant instead if a third-person, loot-focused shooter is your priority and you want a different world and progression loop from Destiny 2: The Final Shape.
• Outriders: Pick Outriders instead if you want a more self-contained, story-focused looter shooter. Destiny 2: The Final Shape is the better fit for players already invested in Destiny 2’s ongoing world.
