Sony PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle pairs a PlayStation VR2 headset with Sense controllers and a voucher for Horizon Call of the Mountain. The package gives PS5 owners a direct route into a first-person adventure in the Horizon universe, with climbing, archery and machine encounters built for virtual reality. The headset’s 2000 × 2040 pixels per eye, eye tracking and 110-degree field of view make the hardware a substantial part of the purchase.

What comes with the Sony PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle?

Sony PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle includes 3 main items: a PS VR2 headset, 2 Sense controllers and a game voucher for Horizon Call of the Mountain. The headset connects to a PlayStation 5 console, while the controllers provide motion input for the game. The package is designed to make the hardware and featured adventure available together.

Retail listings can differ in how they describe accessories and voucher delivery, so read the itemized contents carefully. Look for an explicit statement that the game voucher is included and note whether the retailer sells a new, open-box or refurbished package. Voucher status matters: an already-redeemed code does not provide the game. Also confirm the box includes the controllers and the cables or accessories listed by the seller.

For Black Friday 2026, compare the exact bundle name and contents across retailer pages. A listing that uses the Horizon artwork is not enough on its own; verify that the product is the PS VR2 Horizon bundle and not a headset-only package.

What should shoppers expect from Black Friday 2026 deals?

Black Friday 2026 shoppers should compare the Sony PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle by package contents, retailer terms and stock, not by its headline alone. The game voucher, controller set and headset condition are central details to confirm before placing an order.

Check the full product title and the item details on the retailer’s own listing. Look for a clear description of the voucher, whether the box is new or open-box, the return window and any shipping restrictions. Keep an eye on stock status, since popular console bundles can sell through quickly during a major shopping event. Save the listing details so you can compare like-for-like offers as retailers update their pages.

Avoid treating a headset-only listing as equivalent to the Horizon bundle. A headset without the game voucher does not provide the same package value. Worth it for most players who already own a PS5 and want the included adventure, provided the seller clearly confirms the full bundle and return terms.

Does the Sony PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle need a PS5?

Sony PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle requires a PlayStation 5 console, so the headset is not a standalone VR system. Connect the headset to the console using its USB-C cable, then follow the on-screen setup instructions and pair the Sense controllers.

The game is built around PS VR2 controls and features. Players need room to move their arms safely, a clear play area and a comfortable fit before starting. Check the console’s available USB-C connection and make sure the play space suits the selected VR mode. A PS5 is not included with the bundle, so buyers without one need to account for that separate requirement.

The game voucher also needs to be redeemed through the appropriate PlayStation account and store. Read the voucher instructions and regional restrictions before purchase, especially when shopping from a retailer that sells imported or region-specific stock. Confirming those basics upfront helps avoid a bundle that does not fit your console or account.

What are the Sony PlayStation VR2 headset’s main specifications?

Sony PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle features a headset with 2000 × 2040 pixels per eye, a 90 or 120 Hz refresh rate and an approximately 110-degree field of view. The OLED display, eye tracking and headset tracking features support an immersive view designed for PS5 games.

The PS VR2 uses inside-out tracking, with cameras on the headset tracking movement without requiring external tracking stations. Sense controllers provide motion controls and haptic feedback for supported games. The headset also supports eye tracking, which game developers use for features such as foveated rendering and eye-based interactions. Feature use depends on the specific game.

Resolution and refresh rate describe important parts of the display, but comfort and fit also affect a VR session. Adjust the headset to keep the image clear, take breaks and follow PlayStation’s safety guidance. For a Black Friday purchase, check that the listing identifies a genuine PS VR2 Horizon bundle and includes the accessories needed for setup.

What is Horizon Call of the Mountain like to play in VR?

Horizon Call of the Mountain is a single-player, first-person VR adventure included with the Sony PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle. The game places players in the Horizon world, where climbing, bow use and encounters with machines are presented from a close-up VR perspective.

The Sense controllers make physical actions part of the experience. Players reach for handholds, draw a bow and interact with objects using motion controls. That setup gives the adventure a different feel from a standard third-person console game, while the PS VR2 headset provides the surrounding view. The story and environments are tied to the Horizon series, so familiarity with its world can add context, but the central appeal is the VR adventure.

VR comfort varies by player. New headset users should begin with shorter sessions and take a break if they feel discomfort. Check the game’s accessibility and comfort settings before playing, and keep the play area clear. The game is a strong match for players who want a guided story and detailed VR interactions rather than a traditional controller-only Horizon experience.

Who should buy the Sony PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle?

Sony PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle is best for PS5 owners who want a dedicated VR system and a Horizon adventure in one package. The bundle reduces the need to shop separately for the headset, controllers and featured game, as long as the voucher is included and valid.

The package also suits players already interested in VR experiences built around movement, exploration and archery. Anyone buying a first headset should consider available play space, comfort preferences and the cost of building a PS VR2 game library. A VR headset is a more specialized purchase than a standard console game, so the included title should genuinely appeal to the player.

Skip the bundle if you do not own a PS5 or want a headset that works independently of a console. PC VR or standalone VR shoppers should compare platform compatibility and game libraries before deciding. For Black Friday 2026, focus on the full contents, voucher status, seller reputation and return policy to make sure the bundle matches your setup.

Buying Guide

Confirm the exact bundle name

For Black Friday 2026, match the listing to Sony PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle. Verify that the product includes the headset, both Sense controllers and the Horizon Call of the Mountain voucher. Similar-looking PS VR2 listings do not always include the same items.

Check voucher and region details

Confirm the game voucher is included, unused and redeemable in your PlayStation account region. Read the seller’s terms for digital codes and bundled content before ordering. Keep the confirmation and packaging until the voucher has been redeemed successfully.

Review condition and returns

Check whether the bundle is new, open-box or refurbished, and read the retailer’s return policy. VR gear needs a secure, comfortable fit, so understand how returns work if the headset is unsuitable. Verify the package contents on arrival.

Compare stock and seller details

Compare the full item description, seller reputation, shipping terms and stock status across retailer listings. Save the product page details and check for changes during Black Friday 2026. A clear listing is more useful than a vague promotion headline.

Alternatives to Consider

• Meta Quest 3 512GB: Choose Meta Quest 3 512GB if standalone VR matters more than PS5 exclusives. The headset operates without a console and offers access to Meta’s separate game library.
• HTC Vive XR Elite: Choose HTC Vive XR Elite if you want a compact headset with mixed-reality features and PC VR flexibility. Check device and game compatibility against your setup before choosing it over the PS VR2 bundle.
• Valve Index VR Kit: Choose Valve Index VR Kit if your priority is PC VR and you already have a compatible gaming computer. The Sony bundle is a better fit for players focused on PS5 and Horizon Call of the Mountain.
