Which game is better, Knack 2 or Concrete Genie?

Sony Knack 2 – PlayStation 4 is the better choice for 2-player couch co-op, while Sony Concrete Genie – PlayStation 4 is the better choice for a creative 1-player adventure. The games share a colorful presentation, but their play styles are far apart.

Choose Knack 2 for combat, platforming and shared progress through its campaign. Choose Concrete Genie for painting, exploration and a more reflective story. Optional PSVR modes add an extra reason for compatible-headset owners to consider Concrete Genie, while Knack 2 gives a second player a direct role. Both games suit players who want accessible PlayStation adventures, but only Knack 2 fits a co-op-first shopping list.

Is Knack 2 a good game for couch co-op?

Sony Knack 2 – PlayStation 4 supports 2-player local co-op, making it the direct pick for friends or family sharing a console. The second player joins the action rather than waiting for a separate turn.

The adventure mixes fighting, jumping and environmental puzzles, so sessions have more variety than a straight combat game. Knack’s size-changing character design also gives the game a distinctive visual hook. Players who want online matchmaking or a competitive multiplayer focus should look elsewhere; Knack 2 is about moving through a campaign together. For Black Friday 2026 shoppers comparing the headline games, the co-op feature is the simplest deciding point: choose Knack 2 when shared play matters most.

What makes Concrete Genie different from other PS4 platformers?

Sony Concrete Genie – PlayStation 4 stands apart with 1-player gameplay built around painting magical creatures and scenery. The painting mechanic makes creativity part of the adventure rather than a side activity.

Players explore a seaside town and use art to bring color back to its environments. The story gives the experience a gentler tone than the combat-heavy Knack 2. Optional PSVR modes add extra experiences for players with compatible equipment, but the main adventure is designed for standard PS4 play. Concrete Genie is a standout fit for players who value imagination, atmosphere and solo storytelling over co-op action.

Which alternative is best for families and groups?

Sackboy: A Big Adventure – PlayStation 4 is the strongest group pick, with support for up to 4 players. Its cooperative platforming gives families a shared goal and a wider player limit than Knack 2.

Warner Bros. Games LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga – PlayStation 4 is another strong couch co-op option for groups who want a recognizable universe and 2-player play. The LEGO humor makes the Star Wars adventure easy to approach, while the 9-episode scope gives fans plenty to explore. Sony Knack 2 – PlayStation 4 remains a good two-player alternative for a more focused action-platformer. Check controller availability before choosing a 4-player game, since the group needs enough controllers to join in.

Which game is best for solo players?

Sony Concrete Genie – PlayStation 4 is the best solo pick for creative storytelling, while Sony Ratchet & Clank – PlayStation 4 suits players seeking faster action. Both are 1-player adventures with different moods and mechanics.

Concrete Genie emphasizes painting and atmosphere; Ratchet & Clank emphasizes weapon variety and sci-fi combat. Activision Spyro Reignited Trilogy – PlayStation 4 gives exploration fans 3 adventures to work through, and Activision Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy – PlayStation 4 offers 3 games centered on precise jumps and timing. Solo buyers should start with the mood they want, then use genre and challenge level to make the final call.
