Worth it for most players: match the accessory to the device you actually own.
How We Picked
- Verified the intended device and use, including PS Portal protection versus PS5 disc playback.
- Compared stated compatibility and core specs, prioritizing products made for the PlayStation Portal Remote Player or supported PS5 Digital Edition models.
- Reviewed owner feedback for recurring notes about fit, portability, storage and setup.
- Included options across different case styles and one screen-protection accessory, rather than treating every product as a disc-drive alternative.
- Favored clear product identities and practical features; ASINs are left null where a precise Amazon listing match is not certain.

Does the Sony PS5 disc drive work with every PS5 Digital Edition?
No. The Sony Disc Drive for PS5 Digital Edition (Model CFI-ZDD1) is intended for supported slim Digital Edition consoles, not every PS5 model. Confirm your console model against Sony's compatibility information before buying, and plan for an internet connection during pairing.
