Black Friday 2026 is a good time to compare PlayStation VR2 hardware with PS5 games that support VR. I researched and compared specs, reviews and owner feedback to find options for first-time headset buyers, racing fans and players who want a deep single-player experience. The key distinction is simple: PS5 games run on the console, but only selected titles offer a PS VR2 mode.

Here's the bottom line: the Sony PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle is a complete entry into console VR, while Gran Turismo 7 and Resident Evil 4 make strong additions for owners of the headset. Worth it for most players. Choose a game based on its specific VR support, and choose the headset only if you already own—or plan to buy—a compatible PS5 console.

How We Picked

• Verified that each game has a PS5 version and checked its stated PS VR2 compatibility.
• Compared key hardware specifications, including headset display resolution, field of view and refresh rate.
• Prioritized games with distinct VR experiences, strong genre appeal and clear reasons to own them.
• Considered setup needs, including the required PS5 console and whether a headset is part of the product.
