Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty vs The Witcher: which adventure should you choose?
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition are 2 excellent but very different RPG choices. Cyberpunk suits players who want a futuristic city, technology-driven combat and a tense spy story. The Witcher suits players who prefer medieval fantasy, monster contracts and a large world shaped by decisions.
For Black Friday 2026, start with the setting you want to spend time in. Choose Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition if you want the base game plus Phantom Liberty in one package. Choose The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition if a fantasy journey with 2 expansions sounds better. Worth it for most players: buy the edition that bundles the story content you plan to play.
What does Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty include?
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is 1 story expansion for the single-player Cyberpunk 2077 RPG. The expansion adds a new spy-thriller storyline and requires the base game, so it is not the right standalone choice for someone starting fresh. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition packages both parts for a simpler first purchase.
PlayStation and Xbox shoppers should match the edition to their console before buying. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S Ultimate Editions are separate platform products. Check the edition name and platform on the product listing, especially when comparing the expansion alone against the complete package.
What is included in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition?
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition includes the main game and 2 major story expansions. The package is the strongest fit for players who want Geralt’s fantasy adventure and its additional questlines together. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions suit players on current-generation consoles.
The Nintendo Switch edition adds a different advantage: portable play. All three editions are single-player RPGs, so choose by platform and where you want to play. If handheld gaming is the priority, Switch stands out. If you already play on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, choose the matching console version.
Is The Witcher Adventure Game the same as The Witcher video games?
Fantasy Flight Games The Witcher Adventure Game Board Game is a separate tabletop product for 2–4 players, not a video game edition. The game features 4 playable characters and gives a group a screen-free way to take on Witcher-inspired adventures.
Choose the board game for shared sessions around a table, and choose The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for a solo digital RPG. The formats serve different audiences, so the board game is not a substitute for the console editions. Check that your group wants a tabletop experience before choosing it as a gift.
Which platform should you choose for Black Friday 2026?
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S shoppers can choose between complete Cyberpunk and Witcher RPG editions, while Nintendo Switch shoppers have a portable Witcher Complete Edition. Match the product to hardware you already own before comparing editions. A game for the wrong system is no bargain.
For Cyberpunk, pick the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S Ultimate Edition if you need both the main game and Phantom Liberty. For The Witcher, select the Complete Edition that matches your console. For group play, Fantasy Flight Games The Witcher Adventure Game Board Game is the one pick here that supports 2–4 people.
