Which is better, Lies of P or Nioh 2?

Lies of P is the stronger fit for a focused solo campaign, while Nioh 2 offers deeper build systems and co-op for up to 3 players. Both are demanding action RPGs, but their moment-to-moment feel differs.

Lies of P puts the spotlight on timed parries, dodges and weapon assembly. Its puppet-filled setting and directed story make the journey easier to follow. Nioh 2 leans into Japanese fantasy, varied weapons, loot drops and detailed character development. The added systems give players more room to shape a build, while also asking for more menu time.

Choose Lies of P when a compact, single-player challenge sounds appealing. Choose Nioh 2 when replayable builds and group play matter more. Worth it for most players: Nioh 2 Complete Edition delivers a broad package, while Lies of P is the clearer match for solo-first players.

How do Lies of P and Nioh 2 combat compare?

Lies of P centers combat on parries and weapon combinations, while Nioh 2 builds its fights around stance changes, weapon skills and loot-driven character builds. Both reward learning enemy patterns instead of rushing into every encounter.

In Lies of P, the Legion Arm and assembled weapons add tactical options to a focused set of systems. Nioh 2 offers a larger toolkit: players can switch weapon types, manage stances and tune equipment to a build. That depth feels rewarding for players who enjoy refining their approach, but it creates more to learn at the start.

For a direct, readable combat loop, pick Lies of P. For layered mechanics and frequent gear decisions, Nioh 2 is the better match. Neither game is an easygoing action adventure; expect challenging bosses, deliberate timing and repeated learning.

Which game is better for co-op?

Nioh 2 supports online co-op for up to 3 players, while Lies of P is a single-player game with 1-player progression. Nioh 2 is the clear pick for friends who want to tackle a challenging action RPG together.

Nioh 2's co-op gives players a way to share the campaign experience and bring different builds into a group. The Complete Edition also combines the base game with 3 expansions, so there is additional content to explore. Check the exact platform version and online requirements before buying.

Lies of P works best for players who prefer a self-contained journey and a more personal boss-learning rhythm. No multiplayer mode means no co-op setup, but also no group option. Pick the game around how you plan to play: solo for Lies of P, or solo and online group play for Nioh 2.

Which edition should you buy on Black Friday 2026?

Nioh 2 Complete Edition is the strongest all-in-one choice because it includes the base game and 3 expansions, while Lies of P Standard Edition keeps the purchase straightforward for solo players. The best Black Friday 2026 pick depends on platform and the content you want.

On PS5, compare Nioh 2 Remastered Complete Edition with Nioh Collection. The collection includes 2 remastered games, making it the wider series package. PS4 players who want only the core Nioh 2 campaign can consider Standard Edition, while PC players should select the Steam Complete Edition.

For Lies of P, match the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S or Steam version to the system you use. Confirm edition contents and platform details on the listing. A complete edition is useful when expansions are part of the plan; a standard edition works when the base game is the goal.

Is Lies of P or Nioh 2 better for beginners?

Lies of P is the more focused starting point for a solo player, while Nioh 2 gives beginners more systems to learn and co-op for up to 3 players. Neither game is built as an easy first action RPG.

Lies of P limits its main journey to one player and emphasizes a consistent set of combat skills. That focused structure helps players keep attention on timing and boss patterns. Nioh 2 adds stances, gear, weapon skills and character builds, creating more choices and a steeper opening learning curve.

Newcomers who enjoy tinkering with equipment and asking friends for co-op support should start with Nioh 2. Players who want a clear solo challenge and a distinctive story should choose Lies of P. In both games, patience and learning from each fight matter more than button-mashing.

Buying Guide

Match the game to your play style

Pick Lies of P for single-player action, a directed story and precise parry-focused fights. Pick Nioh 2 for loot, extensive builds and optional online co-op for up to 3 players. Both games suit players who enjoy challenging boss encounters.

Check the platform before checkout

Confirm the exact console or PC storefront on the product listing. PlayStation, Xbox and Steam versions are separate choices. Check compatibility with your console generation and verify account or disc requirements before completing a Black Friday 2026 purchase.

Choose the right edition

Nioh 2 Complete Edition includes the base game and 3 expansions. Nioh Collection includes 2 remastered games, including Nioh 2 with its expansions. Standard Editions focus on the base game. Compare package contents rather than relying on a similar-looking title.

Plan for solo or group play

Lies of P supports 1 player and has no co-op mode. Nioh 2 supports online co-op for up to 3 players. Choose based on who will join your sessions, and check the current online-service requirements for your platform.

Review the listing details

Read the edition name, included content, platform and physical or digital format carefully. For PC purchases, check the current system requirements and storefront account. For console purchases, verify the region and disc compatibility shown by the seller.
