Quick answer

Key takeaways

  • Choose a BOOX Note Air model for a roomy writing surface, document work, and split-screen reading.
  • Choose a BOOX Palma model for a pocketable screen suited to reading on commutes and while traveling.
  • The BOOX Note Air4 C pairs a 10.3-inch color display with stylus support for versatile study and work.
  • The BOOX Palma 2 combines a 6.13-inch display, 128GB storage, and a compact phone-shaped design.
  • Compare screen type, size, stylus support, and storage before choosing a Black Friday 2026 reader.

The BOOX Note Air and BOOX Palma suit different readers: Note Air devices offer a 10.3-inch writing and reading area, while Palma models fit a compact 6.13-inch format. For Black Friday 2026, the right pick depends less on a single headline feature and more on whether the device needs to handle handwritten notes or travel-friendly reading.

I researched and compared specs, reviews and owner feedback across seven BOOX models to make the choice easier. My pick for most people is the BOOX Note Air4 C 10.3-inch 64GB for its color screen and stylus-ready workspace. Readers focused on pocketability should start with the BOOX Palma 2 6.13-inch 128GB instead.

How We Picked

  • Screen size and display type: we compared monochrome and color ePaper alongside each model’s listed screen dimensions and resolution.
  • Writing and reading fit: we considered stylus support, screen area, and the practical difference between a tablet-style workspace and a compact reader.
  • Core specifications: we reviewed listed memory, storage, battery capacity, and operating system versions where available.
  • Owner feedback and everyday use: we looked for recurring comments about portability, reading comfort, color clarity, and suitability for documents.
  • Value and choice: we prioritized models with a clear use case, so shoppers can match Black Friday 2026 purchases to their real needs.

Which is better, BOOX Note Air or BOOX Palma?

BOOX Note Air models are better for writing and documents, while BOOX Palma models are better for compact reading; the key screen-size difference is 10.3 inches versus 6.13 inches. The larger Note Air display gives handwriting, PDF markup, and split-screen reading more room. The smaller Palma format is easier to carry and hold for reading on a commute.

The BOOX Note Air4 C 10.3-inch 64GB is the balanced pick for color notes and everyday document work. The BOOX Palma 2 6.13-inch 128GB is the compact choice for a digital library and reading away from home. Skip it if a Palma is being considered as a full replacement for a large note-taking tablet: the smaller screen is a real limit for sustained writing.

Which BOOX Note Air is best for reading and taking notes?

The BOOX Note Air4 C 10.3-inch 64GB is the strongest all-round Note Air pick, with a 10.3-inch color display and stylus-ready design. Color helps distinguish annotations, charts, and highlights, while the larger panel suits class notes, planning, and document review.

The BOOX Note Air3 10.3-inch 64GB is a better match when crisp monochrome text matters more than color. Its 300 ppi Carta 1200 display is designed for black-and-white reading, and the same 10.3-inch screen preserves the broad writing area. The BOOX Note Air3 C 10.3-inch 64GB sits between those priorities with color ePaper and a large writing surface.

Which BOOX Palma is best for travel?

The BOOX Palma 2 6.13-inch 128GB is the best travel pick, with a compact 6.13-inch screen and 128GB of storage. The phone-shaped body slips into a small bag more easily than a 10.3-inch Note Air, and the monochrome display is suited to novels, articles, and other text.

The BOOX Palma 6.13-inch 128GB also makes sense for portable reading, especially for shoppers who want the basic Palma experience. The BOOX Palma 2 adds fingerprint recognition and a newer Android version. Neither Palma is a substitute for a writing tablet: the small screen limits comfortable annotation and full-page document work.

Is color ePaper worth choosing over a monochrome BOOX screen?

Color ePaper is worth choosing when diagrams, highlights, and illustrated books matter; monochrome BOOX screens offer higher-resolution black-and-white detail. The BOOX Note Air4 C 10.3-inch 64GB and BOOX Tab Mini C 7.8-inch 64GB both use Kaleido 3, with 300 ppi black-and-white and 150 ppi color resolution.

A monochrome model such as the BOOX Note Air3 10.3-inch 64GB or BOOX Palma 2 6.13-inch 128GB is a better fit for text-first reading. Choose the color screen for visual material and color-coded notes, rather than expecting color to match the fine detail of monochrome ePaper.

What should shoppers compare for Black Friday 2026?

Black Friday 2026 shoppers should compare screen size, display type, storage, and writing needs before choosing a BOOX device. The BOOX Note Air4 C 10.3-inch 64GB is made for a large color workspace, whereas the BOOX Palma 2 6.13-inch 128GB prioritizes portability and a compact reading library.

A model name alone does not explain which device fits a daily routine. Check whether the screen is color or monochrome, whether a stylus-focused tablet layout is important, and how much storage the library needs. The BOOX Tab Mini C 7.8-inch 64GB offers a middle-size color option between the Note Air and Palma formats.

Buying Guide

Choose a screen size that matches your routine

The BOOX Note Air line has a 10.3-inch screen, while BOOX Palma models measure 6.13 inches. Choose Note Air for writing, PDFs, and split-screen work. Choose Palma for a device that fits more easily into a travel routine. The BOOX Tab Mini C 7.8-inch 64GB offers a mid-size alternative.

Decide between color and monochrome

Kaleido 3 color models list 300 ppi black-and-white resolution and 150 ppi color resolution. Monochrome BOOX devices offer a sharper text-first experience at 300 ppi. Pick color for illustrated content, charts, and color-coded notes; choose monochrome for novels and mostly black-and-white documents.

Match the device to writing needs

A 10.3-inch BOOX Note Air gives handwritten notes and document markup more room than a 6.13-inch BOOX Palma. The BOOX Go 10.3 10.3-inch 64GB is another large-screen monochrome choice. A Palma fits casual reading better than extensive writing or full-page PDF annotation.

Check storage and everyday portability

The BOOX Palma 2 6.13-inch 128GB and BOOX Palma 6.13-inch 128GB offer twice the listed storage of the 64GB Note Air models. Think about offline books and documents, then weigh storage against screen size. A larger library does not make a compact screen better for notes.

Prioritize the feature you will use most

The best Black Friday 2026 BOOX purchase is the model that fits a regular task, not the longest spec list. Pick the BOOX Note Air4 C for color writing, the BOOX Note Air3 for monochrome notes, or the BOOX Palma 2 for travel reading. Keep the primary use case at the center of the comparison.

FAQ
