Is the Soundcore by Anker Space Q45 better than the Marshall Major IV?
Soundcore by Anker Space Q45 is better for noisy commutes, while Marshall Major IV is better for portable listening and longer playback between charges. The key difference is active noise cancelling: the Space Q45 has adaptive ANC, and the Major IV does not.
Soundcore by Anker Space Q45 offers up to 50 hours with ANC enabled and supports LDAC on compatible devices. Marshall Major IV advertises up to 80 hours wirelessly, plus a 3.5 mm connection and wireless charging. Those numbers describe different listening conditions, so do not treat them as a direct battery comparison.
Choose Soundcore by Anker Space Q45 for flights, shared offices and public transit. Choose Marshall Major IV for an on-ear fit, casual listening and a compact design. The short version: noise control favors Soundcore; battery headline and portability favor Marshall.
Which headphone has the longest battery life?
Marshall Major IV has the highest listed battery estimate at up to 80 hours, while Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless offers up to 60 hours with ANC enabled. Battery claims need context: several headphones list a longer runtime when noise cancelling is off.
For travel with ANC active, compare the actual ANC figures. Soundcore by Anker Space Q45 reaches up to 50 hours, JBL Tune 770NC reaches up to 44 hours and Sony WH-1000XM5 reaches up to 30 hours. Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones list up to 24 hours in standard listening mode.
Volume, codec settings, call use and environmental conditions affect real-world playback. Owner feedback is useful for understanding whether a published estimate matches everyday patterns, but the listed number remains a reference rather than a guarantee.
Which model is best for flights and commuting?
Soundcore by Anker Space Q45 is the most balanced pick for flights and commuting, combining adaptive ANC with up to 50 hours of playback when ANC is enabled. Over-ear cups also create a physical barrier around the ears, which helps with comfort during longer listening sessions.
Sony WH-1000XM5 and Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones are premium alternatives for travelers who prioritize noise control and comfort. Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless stands out when long battery life matters, with up to 60 hours even with ANC enabled.
Marshall Major IV remains a sensible option for lighter everyday carry, but the absence of ANC matters in a cabin or on a busy train. For noisy environments, a dedicated noise-cancelling model offers a clearer advantage than a higher battery figure alone.
Which headphones are better for calls and switching devices?
Soundcore by Anker Space Q45, Sony WH-1000XM5 and JBL Tune 770NC support multipoint pairing, making them useful for people who switch between a laptop and phone. Multipoint keeps two devices connected, though the way playback hands off between them varies.
Beats Studio Pro offers USB-C and 3.5 mm wired listening alongside Bluetooth, which gives users connection choices for compatible devices. Marshall Major IV also supports a 3.5 mm wired connection, while its compact build favors straightforward personal listening.
Call quality depends on microphone design, room noise and how a paired device processes voice. Check owner feedback for call performance in your main setting, and prioritize multipoint if fast switching matters more than a wired fallback.
What should shoppers compare before choosing?
Shoppers should compare fit, ANC battery life, device connections and controls before choosing a headphone. Over-ear models cover the ear and tend to suit longer trips; on-ear models take up less room but press against the outer ear.
Battery figures are most useful when matched by mode. Compare ANC-on estimates with ANC-on estimates, and look for wired listening if a dead battery would interrupt a trip. Codec support such as LDAC is valuable only when the source device and listening setup support it.
For Black Friday 2026, start with the feature that matters most and then compare the shortlisted models. The Soundcore by Anker Space Q45 is the balanced ANC pick, the Marshall Major IV is the compact battery pick, and premium options add different comfort and sound features.
Buying Guide
Match the fit to your routine
Choose over-ear headphones for longer sessions and noisy travel. Pick an on-ear model such as Marshall Major IV when compact carry and a lighter profile matter more than isolation.
Compare battery life in the same mode
Check the ANC-on estimate for travel use. Soundcore by Anker Space Q45 lists up to 50 hours with ANC; Marshall Major IV lists up to 80 hours wirelessly but has no ANC.
Check device and codec support
LDAC needs a compatible source device. Multipoint is helpful for switching between a computer and phone, while USB-C or 3.5 mm connections provide wired alternatives.
Prioritize the feature you will use daily
Frequent flyers should prioritize ANC and comfort. Listeners who value fewer charging stops should compare battery estimates, while people moving between devices should look for multipoint.
