Which game is better for a story-focused player?
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is the better story-first choice for solo players, with 4 major saga arcs following Goku and his allies. Its action-RPG structure adds exploration, character progression and side activities between big battles. Players who want a continuous anime adventure get a clear reason to choose Kakarot over a traditional fighter.
Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections also includes story content, but its main appeal is combat variety. Its large roster and arena format make it a better match for fans who want to jump between characters or battle a friend. For Black Friday 2026, decide whether campaign progression or repeatable matches will get more playtime.
Which game has more characters and versus action?
Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections has the stronger roster pitch, with more than 130 playable characters across the Naruto and Boruto worlds. The game emphasizes arena battles, team combinations and quick exchanges, making it the more natural choice for players who care about match-ups.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot puts its focus elsewhere. The game’s core appeal is reliving major story moments, not selecting from an enormous competitive roster. Choose Storm Connections for character choice and versus play; choose Kakarot for a longer single-player journey. Both serve anime fans, but their moment-to-moment play feels distinct.
Should you buy the PS5 or Nintendo Switch version?
PlayStation 5 versions are the straightforward fit for players who mainly game on a PS5, while Nintendo Switch versions suit people who want to play away from a television. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a solo campaign, so its story structure naturally fits portable sessions. Storm Connections is also portable on Switch, with local play available for shared sessions.
Check the exact platform name on the product listing before purchasing. A PlayStation version does not work on an Xbox console, and a Nintendo Switch cartridge or listing is not a PlayStation download. Console generation and ownership matter more than a franchise preference if the game cannot run on your system.
Is Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot or Naruto Storm Connections better for beginners?
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is the easier recommendation for players who prefer a guided, single-player adventure, because its story advances through familiar saga arcs. Its RPG format gives newcomers time to learn the combat and explore at their own pace.
Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is accessible to fans who want direct arena battles, but fighting-game newcomers should expect to spend time learning character abilities and match timing. The best starting point depends on what feels fun: a campaign with progression or repeated battles with a large cast. Neither game requires franchise expertise to enjoy its basic premise.
What should you compare before Black Friday 2026?
The right Black Friday 2026 comparison starts with the exact game edition and console platform. Confirm the listing says Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot or Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, then match PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo Switch wording to the console you own. Digital and physical formats also affect how you access and share a game.
Next, compare what you want to play after the opening hours. Kakarot is built around a single-player anime RPG campaign; Storm Connections brings a huge cast and arena fighting. Check included content descriptions on each listing rather than assuming every edition has identical extras. A good pick is the version that fits your console, preferred gameplay and play habits.
Buying Guide
Match the listing to your console
Read the full platform label before adding a game to your cart. PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch editions are separate products. Confirm the format as well: a physical copy and a digital download have different delivery and storage needs.
Choose your preferred gameplay loop
Pick Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot for an action-RPG campaign and four major saga arcs. Pick Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections for arena fighting, team battles and a roster above 130 characters. Genre fit is the key decision in this matchup.
Think about solo and shared play
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is designed around one-player progression. Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections supports local two-player battles, which gives it an advantage for couch competition. Consider who will play and whether multiplayer matters in your home.
Check edition contents carefully
Compare the product page’s included-content details with the edition name. Look for the base game, stated add-ons and any platform-specific notes. Avoid assuming that similarly named editions include the same extras across console generations.
Use Black Friday 2026 listings as a comparison point
Compare the complete product name, platform, format and included content before choosing. A lower listing total is not useful if it is the wrong console version or omits content you wanted. Prioritize the game you will play most.
