Which is better, Astro Bot Rescue Mission or Gotham Knights?
Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Gotham Knights suit 2 different player moods: VR platforming versus superhero action. Astro Bot Rescue Mission puts players inside a playful PS4 adventure and uses the original PlayStation VR headset for its perspective-based stages. Gotham Knights sends players across Gotham as members of the Bat-family.
Pick Astro Bot Rescue Mission if you already own a PS4, the original PSVR headset and a PlayStation Camera. Its compact levels and single-player focus work well for a dedicated VR session. Pick Gotham Knights if you prefer third-person combat, exploration and the option to play online with a friend.
Neither title is a direct substitute for the other. Platform, hardware and genre settle the decision faster than a Black Friday listing headline. For the broadest PS5 platforming option, Sony Interactive Entertainment Astro Bot for PlayStation 5 is a separate game with no VR headset requirement.
Does Astro Bot Rescue Mission work with PlayStation VR2?
Astro Bot Rescue Mission requires the original PlayStation VR system, so Sony PlayStation VR2 CFI-ZVR1 is not a compatible replacement. The game is a PS4 release designed around the first PlayStation VR generation, and the original setup also needs a PlayStation Camera.
Sony PlayStation VR2 CFI-ZVR1 is built for PS5 VR games and has a different headset and controller setup. A PS5 console by itself does not turn Astro Bot Rescue Mission into a PS5 or PSVR2 game. Check the platform label and headset generation before buying a game or accessory.
Players choosing VR hardware should start with the games they want to play. For Astro Bot Rescue Mission, choose the original PSVR route. For PS5 VR titles, choose PlayStation VR2 and check each game listing for supported hardware.
Which Gotham Knights version should I buy?
Warner Bros. Games Gotham Knights for PlayStation 5 is the right edition for PS5 players, while Warner Bros. Games Gotham Knights for Xbox Series X fits Xbox Series X owners. Both versions deliver the same core Gotham action and support up to 2 players online.
The two editions are not interchangeable across console families. Match the game to the console where you play and where your co-op partner keeps their library. Gotham Knights is a single-player local experience, so choose it for online co-op rather than couch split-screen.
Black Friday 2026 listings can place different formats or editions side by side. Confirm the console name, edition and disc or digital format before checkout. A platform mismatch is a bigger problem than a small difference in listing details.
Is Astro Bot on PS5 the same game as Astro Bot Rescue Mission?
Sony Interactive Entertainment Astro Bot for PlayStation 5 and Sony Interactive Entertainment Astro Bot Rescue Mission for PlayStation 4 are separate games. Astro Bot for PS5 is a standalone platform adventure with more than 80 levels and does not require a VR headset.
Astro Bot Rescue Mission is a PS4 VR game built around the original PlayStation VR headset. The names are similar, but the platform, perspective and hardware needs differ. Buyers looking for the PS5 platform game should select Astro Bot for PlayStation 5, not the Rescue Mission listing.
Both games feature Astro and colorful platforming, making either a natural fit for fans of the character. Check the full title and system on the product page, especially when shopping from a search result that shortens the name.
What should I check before buying games and VR gear on Black Friday 2026?
Check 3 things before choosing: console platform, VR generation and game format. Astro Bot Rescue Mission needs a PS4-compatible original PSVR setup; Gotham Knights must match PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X; Astro Bot for PS5 requires a PS5 console but no headset.
For hardware, verify what is included in the box. The Sony PlayStation VR CUH-ZVR2 Headset needs a compatible PlayStation Camera and console. Sony PlayStation VR2 CFI-ZVR1 is a separate PS5 headset generation, not an upgrade path for old PSVR games.
Compare the exact edition, disc or digital format, and return terms on each listing. Keep a shortlist based on the games you actually want, then compare Black Friday 2026 listings against those requirements. Worth it for most players means buying compatible gear first, not chasing an unrelated accessory.
Buying Guide
Choose your console first

Pick the play style you want

Confirm edition and included hardware
Check the full game title, platform, disc or digital format, and accessories included. Astro Bot Rescue Mission needs a PlayStation Camera as well as original PSVR hardware; a headset-only listing is not a complete VR setup.
