Is ExpressVPN or Surfshark better on Black Friday 2026?
ExpressVPN Basic VPN Plan and Surfshark Starter VPN Plan give Black Friday 2026 shoppers two clear options: 10 simultaneous connections with ExpressVPN and unlimited connections with Surfshark. Surfshark stands out for households with many devices, while ExpressVPN keeps its entry plan focused on a familiar VPN experience.
Higher tiers change the comparison. ExpressVPN Advanced VPN Plan supports 12 devices and ExpressVPN Pro VPN Plan supports 14; Surfshark One VPN Plan and Surfshark One+ VPN Plan keep unlimited connections while adding security and privacy tools. Choose by included features and device needs, not by a longer feature list alone.
What is the difference between ExpressVPN and Surfshark plans?
ExpressVPN offers 3 main tiers with device limits of 10, 12 and 14, while Surfshark's 3 plans share unlimited simultaneous connections. The biggest distinction is the way each brand organizes plan value: ExpressVPN scales its device allowance and extras, while Surfshark layers more security services into higher tiers.
ExpressVPN Basic VPN Plan is the simplest match for core VPN coverage. Surfshark Starter VPN Plan is a practical fit when a household shares a subscription across many devices. Surfshark One VPN Plan adds antivirus and alerts, and Surfshark One+ VPN Plan adds data-removal tools. Check each plan's current inclusions because feature bundles can vary by region.
Which VPN is better for streaming and travel?
ExpressVPN and Surfshark both offer servers across more than 100 countries, giving travelers broad location coverage to compare for Black Friday 2026. ExpressVPN lists 105 countries, while Surfshark lists 100; coverage alone does not guarantee access to a particular streaming service.
For travel, compare app support on the devices you carry, connection stability on hotel or public Wi-Fi, and how many devices need coverage at once. Surfshark Starter VPN Plan fits a large travel group because it allows unlimited simultaneous connections. ExpressVPN Basic VPN Plan offers a 10-device allowance and a straightforward option for a smaller set of phones, laptops and tablets.
Which VPN offers the better privacy and security features?
Surfshark One+ VPN Plan is the broadest privacy bundle in this comparison, while ExpressVPN Basic VPN Plan focuses on core VPN service and ExpressVPN's Lightway protocol. The right pick depends on whether extra services add value to your existing security setup.
Surfshark Starter VPN Plan includes ad and tracker blocking features, Surfshark One VPN Plan adds antivirus and account alerts, and Surfshark One+ VPN Plan adds data-removal service. NordVPN Plus VPN Plan and Proton VPN Plus Plan offer additional alternatives for shoppers comparing security-focused brands. Review privacy policies, supported features and renewal conditions for the specific plan before purchase.
How should shoppers compare VPN Black Friday offers?
Black Friday 2026 VPN shoppers should compare 4 essentials: included features, device limits, renewal terms and refund conditions. A compelling first-term offer has less value when the plan renews with tools you do not use or the device allowance does not cover your household.
Check the final checkout page for the exact plan name, subscription length, tax, renewal amount and refund window. Confirm that the provider supports your operating system and preferred protocol. Compare the same type of plan against its closest alternative: Surfshark Starter against ExpressVPN Basic, or Surfshark One against ExpressVPN Advanced. Reading the plan details avoids choosing solely by brand recognition.
Buying Guide
Count the devices first
List the phones, laptops, tablets and other devices that need VPN coverage. Surfshark Starter VPN Plan allows unlimited simultaneous connections, while ExpressVPN Basic VPN Plan covers 10. Households with several users should make the device allowance a first filter.
Choose extras you will use
Surfshark One VPN Plan bundles antivirus and alerts, and Surfshark One+ VPN Plan adds data-removal tools. ExpressVPN's higher tiers raise device limits and add features. Compare each bundle with apps or services you already have.
Check platform and protocol support
Confirm support for every operating system in your home and check router compatibility if you want coverage for devices without VPN apps. Compare protocol options such as Lightway, WireGuard or NordLynx against your needs.
Read checkout and renewal details
Before placing an order, confirm the plan length, renewal terms, refund window and exact features included in your region. Keep a copy of the subscription details so the selected tier matches the service you expect.
