Which game is better for local multiplayer?
Moving Out 2 is the stronger local multiplayer choice, with support for up to 4 players working together. Players carry furniture, coordinate their moves and tackle silly objectives, so communication and shared laughs matter as much as quick reactions. The cooperative setup makes the game a natural fit for a couch session.
Fall Guys focuses on online obstacle-course competition rather than local split-screen play. Friends can squad up online in groups of up to 4, but the core appeal is different: navigating rounds and trying to stay in the contest. Choose based on where your group plays. For one sofa and one screen, start with Moving Out 2.
Is Fall Guys free and how does that compare with Moving Out 2?
Fall Guys is a free-to-play game, while Moving Out 2 is a paid game, so the base-game cost makes Fall Guys the easier no-purchase starting point. Players can download Fall Guys through their platform's official store and join online matches. Optional in-game content is separate from access to the base game.
Moving Out 2 offers a different kind of value for groups that want a dedicated cooperative game. Up to 4 players work together through moving challenges, and the shared tasks give every session a clear team goal. For Black Friday 2026, compare the experience you want instead of treating the games as direct substitutes: free online competition or paid co-op.
Which platforms support Moving Out 2 and Fall Guys?
Moving Out 2 and Fall Guys both have versions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, giving console players a choice across three major platforms. Moving Out 2 also has versions for additional systems, but this guide focuses on the console editions most relevant to the featured picks.
Check the platform name before choosing a game listing. A Nintendo Switch version does not run on a PlayStation 5, and an Xbox version is not interchangeable with either console. Fall Guys is available digitally, so use the official store for the platform you own. Moving Out 2 format and availability vary by platform and retailer.
Which game is better for online play with friends?
Fall Guys is the better match for online-first groups, with squads of up to 4 and short obstacle-course rounds. The colorful competition works well for friends who want to jump into a shared online session without organizing a cooperative campaign. The free-to-play format also makes it simple for a group to get started.
Moving Out 2 supports online co-op as well as local play, so it suits friends who want to solve tasks together rather than compete through rounds. Cross-platform play is a key feature of the game, though players should check current platform and account requirements before organizing a group. Pick Fall Guys for quick competition and Moving Out 2 for team tasks.
Should you buy Moving Out 2 or play Fall Guys first?
Play Fall Guys first if you want to sample a free online party game before choosing a paid title. The game emphasizes quick rounds, obstacle courses and squad play. Players who already know they want an on-couch cooperative game have a clearer reason to choose Moving Out 2.
Moving Out 2 is the more focused purchase for households that gather around one console and enjoy working toward a shared goal. Nintendo Switch supports portable and TV play, while PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions suit those console libraries. Either way, match the game to your group instead of buying both just because Black Friday is approaching.
Buying Guide
Start with your group size
Moving Out 2 supports up to 4 players in cooperative sessions, and Fall Guys supports squads of up to 4 online. Count the people who regularly play together, then decide whether your group wants to cooperate locally or compete online. A party game is only a great fit when your players can join the same way.
Choose local or online play
Choose Moving Out 2 when couch co-op is the priority. Choose Fall Guys when your group prefers online rounds and quick competitive action. Moving Out 2 also offers online play, but its teamwork-focused tasks create a different feel from Fall Guys' obstacle-course contests.
Match the version to your console
Check the platform listed on the game before making a purchase. Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are separate choices. For a new portable setup, the Nintendo Switch OLED Model features a 7-inch screen and supports handheld, tabletop and TV play.
Check the game format
Fall Guys is free-to-play and downloaded digitally through an official platform store. Moving Out 2 is a paid game, with format and retailer availability varying by platform. Read the store listing to confirm platform, edition and delivery method before completing an order.
Buy for the experience, not the event
Black Friday 2026 is a useful time to compare game and console listings, but the best pick depends on what your group will play. Prioritize local co-op, online competition or portable gaming first. A clear match for your setup beats adding a game that does not suit your friends.
