How We Picked

• Game content: verified the number of included Sly Cooper adventures and their titles.
• Platform fit: checked the PlayStation 3 version's compatibility and the limits of its physical disc.

What games are included in The Sly Collection?

Sony's The Sly Collection for PlayStation 3 includes 3 games: The Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. The package puts the original trilogy together, so players can follow Sly, Bentley, and Murray across their early adventures without buying three separate discs.

Each entry brings its own flavor to the stealth-platform formula. The first game focuses on stage-based heists and platforming, while the sequels expand the cast and add more elaborate missions. Sly 3 also mixes in extra playable characters and varied activities. The collection's appeal comes from having those different styles in one release, not from adding a new mainline chapter.

For Black Friday shoppers, confirm the listing names The Sly Collection and not a single Sly Cooper title. Physical listings should show the game disc and clearly describe whether the case and cover art are included.

How does The Sly Collection run on PlayStation 3?

Sony's The Sly Collection for PlayStation 3 presents all 3 included games as HD remasters designed for the PS3. The collection updates the original PlayStation 2-era adventures for a later console generation and adds trophy support, giving returning players extra goals alongside the original missions.

The core experience remains stealth-platform action: sneak past guards, explore levels, solve environmental challenges, and pull off heists. The trilogy also shifts its rhythm between games, with later entries adding more characters and mission variety. Players looking for a modern remake should note that this is a collection of remastered games, not a new rebuild of the trilogy.

Picture quality and performance depend on the console setup and display. A physical copy is a PS3 game, so check the console model and disc drive before ordering. A PS4 or PS5 does not read the PS3 Blu-ray as a native game disc.

Does The Sly Collection work on PS4 or PS5?

The physical Sony The Sly Collection for PlayStation 3 disc requires a PlayStation 3 and does not run as a native disc game on PS4 or PS5. Console compatibility is the first check to make before buying, especially when a Black Friday listing uses general PlayStation branding without clearly stating the platform.

A PS3 owner should confirm the console reads Blu-ray game discs and has enough working storage for any required system setup. The collection is not a PS4 or PS5 version, and inserting the PS3 disc into a newer console does not convert it into one. Digital availability and streaming access depend on region and service catalog, so check the relevant PlayStation account before relying on either option.

For a gift, verify the recipient owns a working PS3. Matching the game to the right console avoids the most common compatibility mistake and makes the physical edition a much safer pick.

What should Black Friday shoppers check before buying?

Black Friday buyers should check disc condition, edition details, seller reliability, and return terms before ordering Sony's The Sly Collection for PlayStation 3. Physical copies on the resale market can differ in condition, and a listing photo does not always show every flaw or included item.

Look for clear descriptions of scratches, disc readability, case condition, cover art, and any inserts. Confirm the listing is for the complete collection rather than a standalone Sly Cooper game or a case without the game. When photos are limited, read the condition notes and seller feedback carefully. A return policy offers useful protection if the delivered copy does not match its description.

Retailer stock can vary, so compare the listing details across sellers instead of chasing a vague deal label. Bundles deserve a close look too: verify every included item is relevant and that the game disc itself is present. A complete, accurately described copy beats a flashy listing with unclear contents.

Is The Sly Collection a good fit for new players?

Sony's The Sly Collection for PlayStation 3 is a solid starting point for newcomers who enjoy stealth-platform games and own a PS3. The package includes the trilogy's first three games, which gives new players a clear path through Sly Cooper's early story and evolving gameplay.

The collection also suits longtime fans who want to revisit the original adventures on PS3. Each game has its own mission structure and pace, so the package offers more variety than a single-title re-release. Trophy support adds optional goals for completion-minded players, while the main draw remains the characters, heists, and platforming.

Players who do not own a PS3 should settle the hardware question before hunting for a copy. The physical disc is not a universal PlayStation release. For a working PS3 owner, though, the three-game format makes the collection easy to recommend as a focused nostalgia buy.

Is The Sly Collection worth buying on Black Friday 2026?

Sony's The Sly Collection for PlayStation 3 is worth a Black Friday 2026 look if you want three classic Sly Cooper games and already own a PS3. The collection's strongest selling point is clear: one release gathers the original trilogy, adds HD presentation, and includes trophy support.

The deal decision comes down to condition and completeness. Compare the exact edition, disc photos, case details, seller feedback, and return policy. If the listing describes a used copy, pay attention to any notes about scratches or missing packaging. If a bundle appears, check that its contents match the listing rather than assuming every accessory or insert is included.

For players without a PS3, the physical edition is not a good fit, regardless of its listing appeal. For compatible-console owners, Worth it for most players who enjoy classic stealth-platforming and want all three adventures together.

Buying Guide

Confirm the game and platform

Check that the listing is for The Sly Collection for PlayStation 3, not an individual Sly Cooper game. The physical Blu-ray requires a PS3, so confirm the recipient has a working compatible console before buying.

Inspect the disc and packaging

Review photos and condition notes for scratches, case damage, cover art, and included inserts. Ask the seller for clearer details when the listing does not show the disc or explain what arrives in the package.

Compare retailer terms and stock

Compare seller feedback, return policies, shipping details, and listing completeness alongside Black Friday 2026 stock. A clear return process and accurate description make a safer purchase than a vague deal headline.

Check bundles before choosing

Read every bundle's contents and confirm The Sly Collection disc is included. Treat extra items as a bonus only when the listing identifies them clearly, and avoid assuming a bundle includes inserts, accessories, or additional games.

Alternatives to Consider

• Ratchet & Clank Collection for PlayStation 3 by Sony Computer Entertainment: Pick Ratchet & Clank Collection if you want a PlayStation 3 platforming compilation centered on gadget-heavy action rather than Sly Cooper's stealth-focused capers.
• Jak and Daxter Collection for PlayStation 3 by Sony Computer Entertainment: Choose Jak and Daxter Collection if a different PlayStation 3 platforming trilogy better fits your nostalgia. The collection gathers three Jak and Daxter games rather than Sly Cooper's original adventures.
• Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time for PlayStation 3 by Sony Computer Entertainment: Choose Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time if you want a later Sly adventure rather than the original trilogy collection. It is a separate game and does not replace the three titles included in The Sly Collection.
