Which is better: Spider-Man 2018 or Batman: Arkham Collection?
Sony Interactive Entertainment Marvel's Spider-Man: Game of the Year Edition (PS4) offers 1 focused superhero campaign, while Warner Bros. Games Batman: Arkham Collection (PS4) includes 3 Batman games. The matchup is less about a universal winner and more about the kind of adventure you want.
Spider-Man puts movement first. Web-swinging turns travel into a highlight, and the story follows Peter Parker through a cinematic New York adventure. Batman leans into stealth, investigation, and tactical combat. The Arkham set also gives players three different campaigns to explore, which makes it the broader choice for content variety.
Choose Spider-Man for agile traversal and a modern superhero story. Choose Arkham Collection for multiple Batman adventures and a slower, more methodical combat rhythm.
What games are included in Batman: Arkham Collection?
Warner Bros. Games Batman: Arkham Collection (PS4) contains 3 games: Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, and Batman: Arkham Knight. The set covers Batman's shift from a confined asylum setting to a larger Gotham adventure.
Warner Bros. Games Batman: Return to Arkham (PS4) is a different package with 2 games: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Players who want the full three-game lineup should check the product title and included-game list before buying. A standalone Arkham Knight copy delivers only that single campaign.
For the original Spider-Man comparison, the collection's biggest advantage is campaign count. The three games also give Batman fans more ways to approach combat, stealth, and detective sequences.
Which Spider-Man game is the best starting point?
Sony Interactive Entertainment Marvel's Spider-Man: Game of the Year Edition (PS4) is the best starting point for the original 2018 story, with 1 main campaign and 3 add-on chapters. Players with a PS5 can choose Sony Interactive Entertainment Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered (PS5) for a PS5 edition of that core adventure.
Sony Interactive Entertainment Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition (PS5) adds a second complete game and introduces Miles as a playable hero. Sony Interactive Entertainment Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (PS5) is a natural premium pick for players ready for a larger follow-up with both Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
A simple path: begin with the Game of the Year Edition on PS4 or Remastered on PS5, then move to Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2 if you want more.
Do these games work on PS4 or PS5?
Sony Interactive Entertainment Marvel's Spider-Man: Game of the Year Edition (PS4), Warner Bros. Games Batman: Arkham Collection (PS4), and the other PS4 editions in this guide are PS4 products. Sony Interactive Entertainment Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered (PS5), Miles Morales Ultimate Edition (PS5), and Spider-Man 2 (PS5) are PS5 products.
Check the exact edition and platform on the product page before checkout. Console compatibility and included content depend on the specific edition, not just the franchise name. A PS5 owner who wants the original Spider-Man story should look for the Remastered edition or confirm the compatibility details for a PS4 copy.
For Batman, the featured collection is a PS4 product. Confirm your console setup and the current listing details before choosing between the collection, Return to Arkham, or Arkham Knight.
Which game should I choose for Black Friday 2026?
Warner Bros. Games Batman: Arkham Collection (PS4) is the strongest all-around pick for players who value 3 campaigns, while Sony Interactive Entertainment Marvel's Spider-Man: Game of the Year Edition (PS4) is the direct match for the 2018 Spider-Man experience.
For a PS5-only purchase, Sony Interactive Entertainment Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition (PS5) packs 2 games into one package. Sony Interactive Entertainment Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (PS5) is the premium standalone choice for players who want two playable heroes and a larger city adventure.
Before buying, compare platform, edition name, and included games. Black Friday 2026 is a good time to line up the right version with your console and backlog rather than choosing by franchise alone.
Buying Guide
Match the game to your console
PS4 owners should start with the PS4 editions, including Batman: Arkham Collection and the original Spider-Man Game of the Year Edition. PS5 owners seeking the original Spider-Man campaign should compare the PS5 Remastered listing with other compatible editions before checkout.
Compare campaign count
Warner Bros. Games Batman: Arkham Collection (PS4) includes 3 games, while Return to Arkham contains 2. Sony Interactive Entertainment Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition (PS5) also includes 2 games. Check the package contents when comparing editions.
Pick the gameplay style you enjoy
Choose Spider-Man for quick traversal, acrobatic combat, and a cinematic hero story. Choose Batman for stealth, detective sequences, and deliberate combat. The differences are clear, so let your preferred play style lead the decision.
Check edition names and extras
Game of the Year, Remastered, and Ultimate Edition identify different product packages. Read each listing's included content and platform details. Edition names matter: the original campaign, add-on chapters, and a separate game are not interchangeable.
Think about your backlog
One campaign suits players who want a focused story, while a 3-game collection offers a longer queue of adventures. For Black Friday 2026, choose the package that fits your available play time and the games already in your library.
