What should I compare before choosing a Black Friday PS5 game?

Compare the exact PS5 edition, included content, play modes, and online requirements before choosing any game in this guide. A Standard Edition is a straightforward starting point, but special editions can package extra content. Read the listing carefully to confirm the format and what comes in the box or download.

Next, think about who will play. Solo players can value story or career modes, while local groups should check player counts and versus options. Online-focused players should confirm that their preferred modes fit their setup. Street Fighter 6 and FC 25 are not direct substitutes: one focuses on duels, the other on soccer. Match the game to your regular play sessions for a purchase you will keep enjoying.

Buying Guide

Start with the genre

Choose Street Fighter 6 for fighting, FC 25 for soccer, Tekken 8 for 3D combat, Mortal Kombat 1 for cinematic bouts, Gran Turismo 7 for racing, NBA 2K26 for basketball, or WWE 2K26 for wrestling.

Check the edition

Compare the product listing with the exact Standard Edition or special edition you want. Confirm whether the copy is physical or digital and review any listed bonus content before checkout.

Match modes to your play group

Solo players can focus on story and career modes. For couch competition, check the local player count. Online players should review the game’s online features and any service requirements.

Think about the learning curve

Fighting games reward matchup knowledge and practice. Racing games reward driving consistency. Sports games vary between quick matches, career progression, and team management. Pick the loop that sounds fun after the first session.

Compare the complete package

Review platform, edition, included content, and seller details together. Black Friday shopping is easier when you compare like-for-like versions rather than choosing by a game title alone.
