Which game is better: The Last of Us Part II Remastered or Horizon Forbidden West?
PlayStation The Last of Us Part II Remastered (PS5) is the stronger pick for a focused story, while PlayStation Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition (PS5) is better for open-world exploration. Both are single-player PS5 games, but their structure and mood are sharply different.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered emphasizes close encounters, stealth, survival, and character conflict. Its No Return mode adds a separate survival challenge for players who want action beyond the campaign. Horizon Forbidden West gives players a broad landscape to explore, machines to study, and side activities to pursue at their own pace.
Worth it for most players. Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition has the broader package for players who enjoy optional content and exploration. Players who want a more tightly directed narrative should choose The Last of Us Part II Remastered.
What is included in each PS5 edition?
PlayStation The Last of Us Part II Remastered (PS5) includes the main game, No Return survival mode, and Lost Levels content. PlayStation Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition (PS5) includes the main adventure and the Burning Shores expansion.
The distinction matters when comparing versions. The PlayStation Horizon Forbidden West Standard Edition (PS5) contains the main game, while the Complete Edition adds expansion content. Players who want Aloy’s central adventure without the additional story can focus on the Standard Edition.
Check the edition name on the listing before selecting a copy. A Complete Edition is the more convenient choice for players who want its included expansion, while the Standard Edition keeps the decision centered on the base game. The Last of Us remaster is a separate game purchase, not a bundle with Horizon.
Which game suits a short-session player?
PlayStation The Last of Us Part II Remastered (PS5) suits players who want a directed campaign, while PlayStation Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition (PS5) suits players happy to set their own pace across a large map. Neither game requires multiplayer partners.
A focused mission in The Last of Us can make it easier to return to a clear objective. Its No Return mode provides a separate run-based option for a different kind of session. Horizon Forbidden West supports shorter play too, but its side quests, exploration, and upgrades invite longer detours.
Think about how you like to spend a free evening. Players who prefer a clear narrative thread should lean toward The Last of Us. Players who enjoy collecting resources, exploring new locations, and preparing for machine fights will find more flexibility in Horizon.
Do you need a PS5 disc console for these games?
The Sony PlayStation 5 Slim Disc Edition Console supports compatible physical PS5 games and digital downloads, while a digital-only PS5 setup relies on digital purchases. The edition and format of the game listing matter as much as the console model.
A disc console gives players a physical-media option and includes a detachable Ultra HD Blu-ray drive. The Sony PlayStation 5 Slim Disc Edition Console also has a 1 TB SSD for installed games. Players who already use a digital library can compare digital editions instead of choosing hardware based on discs.
Before checkout, match the game format to the console you own. A physical game needs a compatible disc drive; a digital game needs access to the account and store library used on the console. Confirm edition contents as well, especially when choosing Horizon Standard versus Complete.
Which accessories improve a PS5 gaming setup?
The Sony DualSense Wireless Controller, Sony PULSE 3D Wireless Headset, and Sony PlayStation Portal Remote Player serve different PS5 needs: extra control, wireless audio, and remote play. Pick the accessory that solves a real gap in your setup.
A second DualSense controller is useful for local multiplayer or as a backup. The PULSE 3D headset pairs wireless audio with two built-in microphones, while the Portal Remote Player provides an 8-inch screen for remote play over Wi-Fi. The Portal requires a PS5 and a suitable network connection.
Neither featured game needs an extra accessory to play. A controller or headset is a practical add-on for a shared setup, while Portal is best for a player who already owns a PS5 and wants to play away from the main television. Start with the feature you will use regularly.
