Marcus Holloway leads Watch Dogs 2 alongside a close-knit DedSec crew. Watch Dogs Legion instead lets players recruit London residents and build a team. The rotating cast offers flexibility, while Watch Dogs 2 gives its story a stronger character focus.

How do the settings and gameplay differ?
Watch Dogs 2 takes place in a fictional San Francisco Bay Area; Watch Dogs Legion is set in London. Each city shapes the games’ tone, missions, and visual identity.
Watch Dogs 2 pairs sunny streets and tech culture with a playful DedSec story. Drones, remote-control tools, stealth, and network hacks help players tackle objectives, while Marcus and his crew provide a personal through-line.
Watch Dogs Legion centers on resistance and recruitment. Players enlist citizens with distinct traits and abilities, then bring them on missions. Both games reward observation and creative use of technology, but Watch Dogs 2 is more character-led, while Watch Dogs Legion emphasizes switching operatives and approaches.
Which Watch Dogs game should I buy for my console?
