Which is better, Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G or Google Pixel 8a?

Google Pixel 8a is the better choice for compact size and Google camera features, while Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G is better for a larger screen and optical zoom. Google Pixel 8a has a 6.1-inch 120Hz display; Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G has a 6.4-inch 120Hz display.

The camera setups separate these phones most clearly. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G has three rear cameras, including a telephoto lens for zoom. Google Pixel 8a has a 64 MP main camera and Google photo tools, but no dedicated telephoto lens. Shoppers who often photograph distant subjects should favor Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G; shoppers who value compact everyday photography should start with Google Pixel 8a.

For Black Friday 2026, compare each phone’s storage, seller and software-support details before deciding. Google Pixel 8a is the straightforward choice for most people who want a newer-feeling compact phone.

Which phone has the better camera?

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G has the more flexible camera setup with 3 rear cameras, while Google Pixel 8a has a 64 MP main camera and helpful image-processing features. The better choice depends on the photos you take most.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G includes a dedicated telephoto camera, which gives shoppers a real optical zoom option for portraits and faraway subjects. Google Pixel 8a relies on its main and ultrawide cameras, with Google’s software helping create appealing everyday photos. The megapixel count alone does not determine image quality, so consider camera versatility and processing as well.

Shoppers who take frequent zoom photos should choose Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G. Shoppers who mostly capture people, meals, pets and everyday scenes should consider Google Pixel 8a or Google Pixel 9a.

Which phone has the bigger screen and better battery capacity?

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G has the larger screen at 6.4 inches, while Google Pixel 8a has a 4492 mAh battery and a more compact 6.1-inch body. Neither battery-capacity figure guarantees a specific amount of screen time.

Display size is the clearest difference for shoppers who watch video or read on a phone. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G gives content more room, while Google Pixel 8a is easier to handle and store in smaller pockets. Both phones have 120Hz displays, so scrolling feels smooth on either device.

For a bigger screen and greater camera flexibility, consider Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, which has a 6.7-inch display. For a larger battery capacity, Google Pixel 9a lists 5100 mAh. Usage habits, signal strength and screen brightness affect real-world battery life.

Which phone offers better software support?

Google Pixel 8a and newer Google Pixel models are the stronger software-support picks, with a long update commitment from Google. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G is an older phone, so shoppers should check its remaining support period before buying.

Software support matters for security updates, new features and how long a phone feels current. Google Pixel 8a, Google Pixel 9a, Google Pixel 9 and Google Pixel 8 each have a longer published update commitment than shoppers should assume for Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G. Samsung Galaxy S24 FE and Samsung Galaxy A56 5G also offer longer support plans than the older Fan Edition model.

Black Friday 2026 shoppers should confirm the exact model and region with the manufacturer’s support information. A phone with a longer update runway is the safer pick for someone who plans to keep the same device for several years.

What should you buy on Black Friday 2026?

Google Pixel 8a is the best all-around starting point for most shoppers, while Google Pixel 9a is the value-focused alternative and Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is the large-screen choice. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G remains relevant for shoppers who specifically want its telephoto camera.

Choose Google Pixel 8a for compact handling, a 120Hz screen and Google’s photography features. Choose Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G for its 6.4-inch screen and three-camera flexibility. Pick Google Pixel 9a when battery capacity and newer Pixel features matter more than having a telephoto camera.

Compare unlocked status, storage capacity, return terms and included accessories before checkout. Samsung Galaxy S24 FE and Samsung Galaxy A56 5G suit shoppers who want a 6.7-inch display, while Google Pixel 9 and Google Pixel 8 suit those seeking compact alternatives.

Buying Guide

Choose a screen size that suits your routine

A 6.1-inch Google Pixel 8a is easier to hold than a 6.7-inch Samsung Galaxy S24 FE. Pick a compact model for pockets and one-handed use; choose a larger screen for video, reading and multitasking.

Match the camera to your subjects

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G has 3 rear cameras, including a telephoto lens. Google Pixel 8a uses a 64 MP main camera and software features. Choose zoom flexibility for distant subjects or a simpler point-and-shoot experience for daily photos.

Think beyond battery capacity

Google Pixel 9a lists a 5100 mAh battery, and Samsung Galaxy A56 5G lists 5000 mAh. Capacity is one factor; screen brightness, apps, network signal and charging habits also shape daily battery life.

Check software support and condition

Compare the manufacturer’s current support information before buying, especially for Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G. Check that the listing identifies the exact model, storage, unlocked status and condition, and review return terms.

Compare storage and compatibility

A 128GB phone suits many shoppers, but photo libraries, games and offline video use storage quickly. Confirm carrier compatibility for an unlocked model and make sure the listing’s included accessories match your needs.
