Which is better on PS5: Concord or Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO?
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is the better PS5 purchase for active play because its 182-character roster supports a substantial fighting game, while Concord's online service has shut down. The games also target different tastes: Dragon Ball focuses on anime arena combat, and Concord was built around team-based hero action.
For a Black Friday 2026 shopping list, put Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO ahead of Concord if you want a game you can play. A physical Concord copy is not a route back into its online service. Choose an active PS5 game based on its current features, and pair it with a controller that suits your setup.
Can you still play Concord on PS5?
Concord is not a playable PS5 recommendation because its online service has shut down. The game's core experience depended on online matches, so owning a physical copy does not restore access to the service.
Shoppers comparing Concord with Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO should focus on what each product delivers now. Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO offers playable arena battles and a large roster, while Concord is best treated as a piece of game history rather than an active game purchase. Check a listing carefully before buying any copy for collecting.
Why choose Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO for Black Friday 2026?
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is the stronger choice for anime fighting fans, with 182 playable characters and battles built around signature moves. The game offers a direct fit for fans who want recognizable heroes, rivalries and fast arena combat on PS5.
The main trade-off is its focus: Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO centers on fighting rather than a broad collection of genres. Players who prefer platforming can consider Astro Bot, while players building a local-versus setup should add a second DualSense controller. Match the game to the people who will actually play it.
Which PS5 console should you pair with a game purchase?
The Sony PlayStation 5 Slim Console – Disc Edition is the flexible pick for players who use physical games, while the Digital Edition suits an all-download library; both list 1TB of SSD storage. The disc model also reads compatible 4K UHD Blu-ray media.
Choose the Disc Edition if you own physical PS5 games or want to shop for disc copies. Choose the Digital Edition if your game library is already digital and you do not need a disc drive. Both options support PS5 games, so your library—not a performance claim—should guide the decision.
What accessories improve a PS5 setup?
The Sony DualSense Wireless Controller – White is the practical add-on for local multiplayer, while the Sony PlayStation Portal Remote Player – White serves players who want Remote Play on an 8-inch screen. Each solves a different setup problem.
Pick the standard DualSense for a second player or a straightforward replacement. Choose the DualSense Edge if configurable controls and replaceable stick modules matter to your play style. The Portal requires a PS5 and Wi-Fi, so it makes sense as a companion device rather than a console replacement.
Buying Guide
Choose the game first
For active anime battles, choose Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO. Concord's online service has shut down, so a physical copy does not provide an active match experience.
Pick a disc or digital console
The PS5 Slim Disc Edition supports physical games and 4K UHD Blu-ray media. The Digital Edition is for players who download their library and do not need a built-in disc drive.
Plan for local multiplayer
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO supports local versus play. Add a second DualSense Wireless Controller if another player will join, and check the specific game mode details before buying.
Spend on features you will use
The DualSense Edge fits players who want custom controls. The standard DualSense is the simple everyday pick. The PlayStation Portal is best for remote play in a home with a PS5.
Check listing details
Verify the platform, edition, included accessories and product condition on the retailer listing. Physical and digital editions can have different requirements and usage limits.
FAQ
Concord PS5 vs Dragon Ball Sparking Zero: which should I buy on Black Friday 2026?
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is the playable choice for PS5 shoppers. Its 182-character roster and arena battles suit anime fighting fans. Concord's online service has shut down, so a retail copy does not deliver its original online match experience.
Is Concord playable on PS5 now?
No. Concord's online service has shut down, and the game depended on online play. A physical PlayStation 5 copy does not restore access to that service, so shoppers should not treat the disc as a way to play active Concord matches.
How many characters are in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO?
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO features 182 characters in its roster. The large lineup gives Dragon Ball fans a wide range of fighters to choose from, with arena battles built around each character's signature abilities and attacks.
Should I get the PS5 Slim Disc Edition or Digital Edition?
Choose the Sony PlayStation 5 Slim Console – Disc Edition if you want to play physical games or compatible Blu-ray movies. Choose the Sony PlayStation 5 Slim Console – Digital Edition if you buy games digitally and do not need a built-in disc drive.
Is the PlayStation Portal a standalone gaming console?
No. The Sony PlayStation Portal Remote Player – White is a companion device for Remote Play from a PS5 over Wi-Fi. Its 8-inch screen and controller-style controls suit gaming away from the main television, but the device does not replace a PS5.
